These Terms of Service govern your use of SamePlaylist at sameplaylist.com. By accessing or using SamePlaylist, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
SamePlaylist is a music discovery and playlist-sharing service that can connect to Google and YouTube, import selected YouTube music metadata into a SamePlaylist profile, play videos through YouTube, and provide playlist and recommendation features. SamePlaylist is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google or YouTube.
2. Google and YouTube terms
Some SamePlaylist features use YouTube API Services and Google OAuth. By using those features, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and any other Google or YouTube terms that apply to your use of their services. You may review the Google Privacy Policy for information about Google's data practices.
3. Accounts and authorization
You are responsible for your Google account and for maintaining control of access to it. You must not attempt to use another person's account or authorization without permission. SamePlaylist requests only the permissions needed for its current features, and YouTube access is requested as read-only access.
You can revoke Google/YouTube authorization at any time through your Google Account settings. Features that depend on that authorization may stop working after access is revoked.
4. Your SamePlaylist profile and imported data
SamePlaylist profiles, playlist names and thumbnails, imported video metadata, playlist membership, and related counters may be publicly visible. You are responsible for the names, images, and other information you choose to add or customize in SamePlaylist.
Importing or displaying YouTube metadata in SamePlaylist does not give you ownership of the underlying YouTube video, music, artwork, trademarks, or other third-party content.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use SamePlaylist to:
- violate applicable law or the rights of another person;
- upload or publish unlawful, infringing, deceptive, abusive, or malicious material;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, servers, APIs, tokens, or data;
- circumvent rate limits, security controls, OAuth consent, or restrictions imposed by SamePlaylist, Google, or YouTube;
- scrape Google or YouTube services through SamePlaylist or use SamePlaylist to facilitate prohibited automated collection;
- introduce malware, interfere with the service, or deliberately degrade its availability;
- misrepresent your identity or your relationship with SamePlaylist, Google, YouTube, or another user.
6. Third-party services and content
SamePlaylist depends on third-party services, including Google and YouTube. Their availability, APIs, content, policies, and functionality may change independently of SamePlaylist. We are not responsible for third-party content or for outages, removals, restrictions, or changes made by third-party services.
7. Intellectual property
SamePlaylist's own software, branding, design, and original service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Google, YouTube, video titles, thumbnails, music, and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms grants rights to third-party intellectual property.
8. Availability and changes
SamePlaylist is currently offered as a beta service. Features may change, be limited, become unavailable, or be discontinued. We may modify, suspend, or restrict parts of the service when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, API-policy compliance, or product changes.
9. Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate access to SamePlaylist if we reasonably believe these Terms, applicable law, security requirements, or Google/YouTube policies have been violated, or if continued access creates risk to users or the service.
10. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SamePlaylist is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or continued availability of any third-party video, playlist, API, or integration.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SamePlaylist and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, profits, or access resulting from your use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as SamePlaylist evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when revised Terms are published. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
13. Contact
For questions about these Terms, use the developer/support contact information published for SamePlaylist on the Google OAuth consent screen.
